The Huron Perth Public Health office has mandated mask us in indoor settings and published some new guidelines and recommendations regarding masks and face coverings in indoor public gatherings. In light of this new information we will be requiring masks and or face coverings to be worn in our worship gatherings. There are a few exemptions to who have to wear a mask:
- Children under the age of two years.
- Children who cannot understand the need for a mask, refuse to wear a face covering and cannot be persuaded to do so by their caregiver.
- A person who is unable to put on or remove their face covering without assistance.
- A person whose breathing would be inhibited in any way by wearing a face covering.
- A person who, for any other physical or mental health medical reason, cannot safely wear a face covering. This includes, but is not limited to people with respiratory disease, cognitive difficulties, difficulties in hearing or sensory processing disorders, mental health concerns.
- A person for whom a religious reason prevents them from wearing a face covering that is compliant with the definition of face covering given by Huron Perth Public Health.
If someone falls under one of these exemptions and chooses to not wear a mask or face covering, we will not be asking "why?" or "for what reason?" We will trust that there is good reason. We will note that all who do not wear a mask or face covering will be asked to not sing or whistle but will be invited to hum along to any music as a part of the service. If you are interested in more information from Huron Perth Public Health on the new mask or face-covering requirements please visit: https://www.hpph.ca/en/health-matters/masks-or-face-coverings.aspx
Also, please note that there will be cloth masks available at the church for those who do not have a mask, lost their mask, forgot their mask etc. These masks were donated to the church and will be available while supplies last.
