Sunday School and Nursery
At Vanastra Community Christian Reformed Church we offer Nursery and Sunday School during our Sunday morning worship service.
Nursery is available for children from newborns to age 3 from about 9:50 until the end of the service. Please sign your child in and out on the sign-up sheets provided in the nurseries. The Baby Nursery is available for parents who would like a quiet space with their own children. Sunday School is available for children in Junior Kindergarten to grade 4. Children in JK to Grade 2 will gather in the gym before the service and children in grades 3-4 will leave immediately following the sermon, as indicated in the order of worship. Please find details about each Sunday School class below: JK -SK and Grades 1-2 When the children are welcome to gather in the gym at the start of the service where they will gather in one large group in the where one of the leaders will pray, pass an offering around and sing some songs. The leaders will read the story together and after this is finished they will split into two different groups (JK and SK group and GR1 to Gr2). When they go into their groups where they will do a craft/activity, and than end off in playtime (the rooms will be supplied with toys). The program will be based on the God Loves Me Story Books. The leader will be given a book that has the story and activity that are simple bible based program. These classes will be lead by leader volunteers in a two week rotation. Grades 3-4 This age group will sit through the service and be dismissed right after the sermon ends for a 30 minute class. By the time the service is over our hope is that the parents will only have to wait about 10 to 15 minutes before their children are dismissed. There will be a rotation of three leaders in this class and they will teach the children for the whole year. They have a bible based program called Kid Connection.
