WELCOME
We would like to extend a warm welcome to all our guests who have come to share in our worship service. May we be blessed as we worship our Lord even when we cannot gather together as an entire congregation.
Here you will find all the information for our worship service; a video sermon will be posted around 10 am Sunday morning.
Welcome:
Good Morning!
Welcome to our online worship service.  We gather together in Spirit while we cannot all be together physically.  We trust that though we are not all able to gather together in our church building, the Church is alive and well.
Let us come before our God in worship with the following advent reading & call to worship:

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  3 Know that the Lord is God.  It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
 (Psalm 100)

Wherever we are, no matter what we have been experiencing, we are all invited to join together in worship.  As we do, we are reminded that our God is with us and he welcomes us through the following words, “Grace and peace be yours in abundance.” (1 Peter 1:2b)
Sermon Text:  Galations 1:1-6
www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=galatians+1%3A1-6&version=NIV
1 Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— 2 and all the brothers and sisters[a] with me,
To the churches in Galatia:
3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
No Other Gospel
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel--

Prayer:
After watching the sermon & communion videos, spend some time in prayer.  Be encouraged to pray using your own prayer.  If you aren’t sure what to pray, consider using the following prayer:
God, our heavenly Father, we thank you for this beautiful day on which we worship.  We thank you for the technology that allows us to continue to worship together while we are not able to fully gather together.  We thank you for the ability to be creative in how we continue to reach out in support as a church family.
We pray Lord for our government, for leaders in our communities and for leaders in our church.  We pray for wisdom as they discern how to move forward through this continued pandemic.  We pray for patience as we wait for safety regulations to be lightened or lifted.  We pray that we would find ways to continually respect and honour those in authority, even when our opinions differ.
Equip us, by your Spirit, with the strength and boldness to humble ourselves as we seek to love and serve all we meet.  Help us to be a people who are quick to listen and slow to speak.  Help us to be able to hear the hurts, the concerns, the injustices that others face.
Prepare us, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as we look forward to celebrating communion next week.  Grant us time and energy to reflect deeply on your grace in our lives. Convict us, Lord, to a place of true confession before you.  Strengthen us in our faith in Jesus Christ as our only Lord and Saviour.  Lead us, O Lord, as we seek to shine your light in this broken and sin-filled world.  May our lives be a testimony to your grace, your love and your glory.  This we pray in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Offering:
Jan 17-February 7:  Church Ministries
Although we are unable to meet together for regular Sunday worship gatherings, there is still opportunity to share of our gifts, talents and resources.  First, be creative in thinking of the ways that you can be a blessing to those nearby to you (offering to buy or pick up groceries, offering child care for those who need to work, offering to cook a meal, etc).  Second, for our members and regular attenders (we do not expect our guests to contribute financially), there are ways to continue to support our church and the other ministries/agencies that we would normally support on Sunday mornings.  Our church is set up to receive e-transfers; they may be sent to vanastracrcdonations@gmail.com.  Please add in your note where the donations are to be directed (i.e. Church Budget, World Renew, etc).  If you are not set up for e-transfer or do not feel comfortable with it, then cheques may be mailed to the church at 50 Fifth Ave. Vanastra, ON N0M 1L0.  Please consider giving as if we were gathering together regularly on these Sundays.
Doxology:
Parting Blessing:
“May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:20-21)
