All girls in grades 3-8 are welcome to register. GEMS starts in late September and ends in April. Registration is the last Thursday in September starting at 7:00 pm.
GEMS is a girls club for girls in grades 3-8 that seeks to equip women and girls to live radically faithful lives by following the words of the GEMS Aim - Micah 6:8 "And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God."
The theme for 2023-24 is Rise Up! based on Isaiah 40:31: "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Each GEMS meeting typically begins with our opening exercises - reciting our theme verses, singing our theme songs (many include creative movement!), and a prayer. Next, the girls learn about Jesus and the Bible and work on earning badges (ex. Cooking, Basketry, Caring for Animals).
At GEMS we also do many group activity nights such as visiting Huronview, a Theme Night, a GEMS Rally with other clubs in the area, swimming with the Cadets, an evening with the moms/special women, an evening with the dads/special men, and various craft and game nights.
